Building and Fire Codes for Propane

Each town has its own set of building codes, some require permits as well

Some require permits for tank and appliance installations. In some cases, there may be a fee associated with the permits; we can obtain the permit. The cost, if any, is the responsibility of the customer and can be billed to your account.

Please note that we cannot install your propane tanks directly under decks. NFPA 101, The Life Safety Code prohibits the installation of propane tanks under decks or areas of egress from a building or structure. Violation of this code puts your family at risk.

“8.7.3.2 No storage or handling of flammable liquids or gases shall be permitted in any location where such storage would jeopardize egress from the structure…” ~ National Fire Protection Association, National Life Safety Code.
